This popcorn is literally the easiest thing I make for any get together and is always gone by the end of the party. We call it “Husker Popcorn” because I made it the first time for a Husker football game and my people didn’t know how else to ask for it again. Even if you are not a Husker fan, I promise your guests will still eat this addictive popcorn right up. It’s always a crowd pleaser! When people ask me how I make it, I’m almost embarrassed to tell them because it really has only two ingredients… TWO! Yet, it somehow tastes very gourmet. I can’t wait for you to try it!

Gameday (Husker) Popcorn

3 bags of microwave popcorn (I prefer Homestyle light butter popcorn.)
2 cups (16 ounces) of white melting disks
3/4 cup (about 6 ounces) of red (or other colored) melting disks

Pop bags of popcorn in the microwave as directed. Take out old maids and place popped corn into a very large bowl or brown grocery sack.   Melt the white melting disks in the microwave until almost completely melted and stir until creamy. Dump melted discs over popcorn and gently mix until covered. Lay to dry on a wax paper lined counter.  Melt the red melting disks and with a fork gently drizzle onto popcorn.  Let the popcorn sit until the kernels are dry to the touch and then you can place the popcorn into a serving bowl. If you are not using the popcorn until later, I suggest covering it lightly with a plastic wrap or Tupperware lid. Enjoy!

I usually grab my candy melts from Hobby Lobby or Micheals.  You can also find them here!
