There is a sweetness in returning to the simple that quarantine has caused. We’ve had to fight for it at times…to keep our eyes searching for the good, the sweet, the true things.

Many of us have never spent so much time walking around our yards in the spring, watching nature keep going right outside our windows. The return of spring is reminding me of things I may know to be true, but forgot to remember in the loss of the ordinary. The leaves are popping out like nothing has changed at all, the flowers give out their fragrance without notice that we never seem to leave, and the robins waddle with their tummies full, waiting for the right time to start building their nests for their young.

Nature is not worried at all, and God isn’t either.

None of this is surprising to Him. So as we watch the earth around us remind us of what has always been true, let’s listen. “Don’t Forget to Remember.”

Now I’m a sucker for a sweet children’s song, but this one felt like a special gift. It’s by Ellie Holcomb. Click the link and close your eyes, put your palms up and let it hit your heart like salve to your soul. Let the words pour over you like kindness. Play it in your home this week, let it wash over your kids, and as you watch creation budding all around you today without a care in the world – don’t forget to remember.

You are not forgotten. God’s coming for you.
