One of my favorite things my husband tells me is, “I would marry you all over again, but six months sooner.” (Swoon. 🙂 )
He has said it ever since we got married, and he doesn’t just tell me that when life is full of sunshine and rainbows. He also reminds me of that when I’m not at my best or life is just plain hard. What he really is saying is, “I still choose you.”
That sort of sounds like a sappy married-person story, but what I want you to know is that you too have been chosen.
You see, in the Bible, it clearly shares that when we were at our worst, we were chosen.
Romans 5:7-8 says, “Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
He chose us. He chose you… not because of anything you have done, not done, or will do, but simply because He loves you. He chooses you again and again.
Maybe you know this in your heart to be true, but sometimes we just need a reminder. And if you have never known that you are chosen and loved by God, ask Him to meet you. Ask to hear His voice. Continue to seek Him.
Once you personally know the God of the Universe, I know you will think, “I’m so glad I know you, Lord. Except I wish I would have met you six months sooner.” 🙂
Choose Him over and over.
