One thing that is certain this fall is uncertainty. School. Sickness. Masks.

Uncertainty.

As we notice uncertainty overwhelming our hearts, we can identify what we may be holding too tightly. We have the opportunity to surrender things we are placing our hope in. For me, that is my kids returning to school and a sense of normalcy. For others, it may be their kids’ health. As we notice the places where our hearts are overwhelmed, we can hand them back to our God who is certain and trustworthy…always.

Our God doesn’t say, “Beg Me to notice your worries,” He says to cast our anxiety on Him. Cast means to throw forcefully. We are instructed to throw our uncertainties and our worries on the One who is certain.

Uncertainty allows us to hand things back.

Would our notice of the uncertain teach us to hold fast to the One who is certain.

As summer comes to a close, let’s proceed with our eyes on our God, learning to walk freely like never before in His plans and purposes because He is trustworthy. With our eyes ahead, we can proceed steadily because He holds our gaze, and as we do, our hearts will fall into place.

Peace is what is available as we hand back to God what is already His.
