Have you ever noticed something over and over? Maybe a comment or a theme? Sometimes for me it’s even something I see in nature. I often find that if it is something I have seen over and over, God many times has something to unfold.
So how do we ask God about those things?
Usually I pull out my iPhone, just start typing about what I see, and often a theme will pop out; other times I’ll hash it out with a friend. But if there would be something to notice, I would want to unfold it delicately and see what He may have inside.
That may even be what you feel when you think about God. When the way you experience Him just doesn’t sit right, unwrap those feelings…ask Him about it. It may be a conversation with a friend, where there felt like an undercurrent, and you just need to pinpoint together what’s going on.
Sometimes we need to shift back into first gear, where the wind slows down, and we can smell the air again…reflect and appreciate the scenery that is passing by and say “God, what is all of this?”
Busy and rushed can be an innocent way to miss the life that is all around you waiting to be seen. Like a fancy piece of chocolate there may be something delicate and complicated, waiting to be unwrapped and experienced and when you do you may never taste things the same way again.
