Is there is something inside of you that feels different, do you think it might be God? It could be as simple as increased curiosity or the feeling that there just must be more to this life than you are experiencing. Have you seen someone else feel different about God than you do and wonder if it might be possible for you to feel this way about Him too?
Walk toward the whisper, toward our God who is calling you to more. Walk toward His voice, bringing your authentic self. Leave behind who you believe you should be, maybe even who you want to be. Listen to that still small voice that tells you to come, and come as you are.
Don’t worry about what you think you “should” know. Don’t get caught in the trap that everyone knows more than you do. They might, but your fresh eyes may see something new. When Jesus sees you, He doesn’t see you compared with the others who showed up. He sees you.
Bring your authentic self…even if you don’t quite know who she is yet.
When I first really experienced God, I was afraid. Not afraid of God, but scared that those around me would say, “We have seen her try before.” That fear left me isolated, afraid I would be looked at and judged or even simply doubted.
Don’t look so much to the people around you for their approval, fearing what they might think that you miss the call of Jesus to your heart. Don’t get so clouded by doubt, that you don’t even consider the possibility of what may be true. Is God real? Is He as good as people say He is?
Leave your worries and your cares behind. Follow the whisper, that still small voice in your heart that is calling you Home, the Home you may not have experienced yet, but you may find to be everything. Bring your whole self, not your best self, or your most cleaned up self…forever getting ready to get ready and never responding to the call of your heart. Walk toward the whisper, toward your God who is telling your heart that there is more. My friend, there is so much more. If you are willing to look up, I am confident you will find your way Home.
